Program

On Saturday September 2nd from 1-3pm EDT, the leadership of AAPCSW will host our third and final town hall to discuss the Final Report of The Holmes Commission on Racial Equality in American Psychoanalysis. Over the last two town halls we have had rich and challenging discussions about the findings of the Holmes Commission, in particular with regard to racial enactments, including how racial enactments are inevitable and can be usefully explored.

In our third and final town hall, we will continue these discussions with an explicit eye on next steps for AAPCSW in its growth toward a more racially equitable membership organization. For those who have joined us prior, please know that this does not signal the end of AAPCSW's engagement with the work of the Holmes Commission, nor a premature (or manic) rush to action in forfeiture of the importance of ongoing group process. Rather, we want to be realistic and thoughtful about how we use the time and space of town halls and ensure that attainable goals are identified so that tangible steps can begin to be pursued.

We encourage attendees to review Chapter Nine of the Report on Final Recommendations, and we will look forward to seeing those of you who can join us in our continued engagement with this vital work.
