PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT

The American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work

The American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work understands the importance of privacy to visitors of this Web Site. The following discloses our online information gathering and dissemination guidelines in connection with your use of the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work web site. The American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work only collects personal information that is provided by the user within the following online web forms:

The Web Site currently utilizes “cookies” to track progress when users use the online forms and when logging into AAPCSW's online member services.

Web Analytics

In general, information about visitors to the Web Site and your visit to the Web Site is anonymous. We do not use third party web analytics software. Like all web servers, the server of this Web Site uses standard server log files. These “access files” measure page requests and other non-personally identifiable information such as internet protocol (IP) addresses of the machine accessing the Web Site (IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information), browser type, referring/exit pages, platform type, date and time of visit, and errors encountered. This general information helps diagnose problems with our server and improve access to the Web Site.

Membership Applications

AAPCSW collects personal information when users and members apply for membership. The following information is collected in our web forms: name, email, mailing address, business address, telephone, degrees/credentials, expertise, and listserv perferences. This information is used to process each membership application.

Online Membership Directory

On December 23, 2013, AAPCSW made its Online Membership Directory available directly from the AAPCSW.org website. Previously, in order to access the member directory, members had to log-in at the AAPCSW.org website and then perform a search. With public search, AAPCSW members as well as web visitors will be able to search for members and referrals.

Public Member Directory

By making the AAPCSW member directory available to the public, AAPCSW hopes to make it easier for members as well as non-members to find qualified clinical social workers.

Search Results

Performing a search query based on state & zip code will provide limited information about AAPCSW members:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Tel
  • Primary Office Address

Opt-in/Opt-out of the Public Search Directory

AAPCSW members can opt-in/opt-out of the public search directory and update member information displayed in the search results by visiting their member account profile. For questions and or comments about the Online AAPCSW Membership Directory, please contact: barbara.matos@aapcsw.org

AAPCSW Listserv

The opinions, views, and information expressed in this email group belong to the correspondents. As a matter of policy, AAPCSW does not endorse the views, opinions or recommendations posted by any of the correspondents in this group. Unless explicitly stated, member posts of educational offerings are not AAPCSW sponsored or endorsed.

Effective January 1, 2018, new members are automatically enrolled in the AAPCSW General ListServ. Enrollment in the New Professionals and Child & Adolescent ListServs remains optional.

PEP-Web Subscriptions & Renewal

In order to provide additional services to our members, AAPCSW provides PEP-Web the following information: name, mailing address, email, work, home and fax telephone numbers.

Psychoanalytic Social Work Journal

In order to provide online and print access to the Psychoanalytic Social Work Journal, AAPCSW provides the Journal with the following information: name, email and mailing address.

2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM AAPCSW

The American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work sends a notification email to users who may use our online membership forms, PEP subscriptions forms and donation forms. Conference registrants will receive confirmation emails when using our online conference registration forms. In addition, AAPCSW Members receive confirmation emails when joining or leaving the AAPCSW Listserv. AAPCSW may also contact you to verify membership information such as your name, email, mailing address and telephone number. AAPCSW Members will receive three email notifications about pending membership expiration and PEP Subscriptions. A cancellation message is also emailed once an AAPCSW Membership or PEP Subscription lapses. Finally, from time to time, AAPCSW will also email information to members regarding changes to benefits, services and related membership fees.

3. UNSUBSCRIBE FROM GENERAL COMMUNICATIONS

AAPCSW does not allow members to unsubscribe to general communications and notifications. Once membership lapses, former members may ask to be permanently removed from our member database and future communications by emailing a request to barbara.matos@aapcsw.org with the following information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • City, State & Zip Code
  • Phone Number
  • E-Mail Address

4. SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

On rare occasions, American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work sends out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.

5. LINKS TO OTHER SITES

The Web Site may contain links to other web sites. American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work does not monitor or control the content of such web sites or whether such web sites collect or process your personal data. Accordingly, the AAPCSW assumes no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any kind of material available at such sites and recommends that you review the separate privacy policies of such sites.

6. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

The AAPCSW may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be posted to this site, so we encourage you to continuously review our Privacy Policy.
